Hey! I need another blog or message or something! I want to know how you are doing because I know yesterday was rough and absolutely ridiculous. Did you ever speak to her again? Or go do something passive aggressive like clip her curtains in her office when she wasn't looking? :)

You are Wonder Woman with your chewless ambitions!! I am so proud of you for not eating anything! Yeah, as if I can relate... but I know how important it is to you and I can't imagine sacrificing so much, especially when you want it most! You are awesome and I look up to your self-discipline and determination. No, really, Kara... I REALLY DO!

At least you are now able to see that what she demands that you do IS NOT what is best for you. What she thinks is often crazy and NOT what you should think. You know better than her about what diet you need and about the kind of man that Ryan is. You WILL make your own decisions, because no one else has the vantage point to do so. Whether she realizes it or not, you know more about your own life than she does. You are very smart. You are successful! You have someone who loves you and respects you for who you are- Home Depot is crap compared to that! Does she think you are stupid? Does she trust you at all? Even if you decided to both quit your job and live off of the government and move in to a trailor in Podunk, she doesn't have a right to judge you and tell you what to do and belittle you and disrespect you! Ugh! She's in denial, but you are a grown woman now!

You sounded soo much like me when you agreed to do the training just for the chance that your mom might give you what YOU needed in your relationship. You were right to call her back because she has to see that you can do these things yourself, you just WANT her to be a part of it! When she pulls this manipulative crap she isn't just trying to blackmail you, she is sacrificing her time with you and an opportunity to be more involved in your life. That should be very valuable to her. Why can't she see that there is more to you than dieting and exercise! God, she doesn't even get that part of your life! What am I talking about!?! Anyway, I admire you for that, because I want to be strong like you are! Also, I really admire the way you turned down chili AND yummy grilled hamburgers at my house this week! I really want to SUPPORT you and maybe you will rub off on Kyle. I can cook brown rice!

You did awesome this year! You should really be proud of yourself. Not only did you change the library, but you changed a lot of the children's lives. Whether it was by encouraging the love of books, showing them how a real Library runs, or accepting those who were in "the tough crew" with open arms. You are already an uber Librarian, and don't let anything or anyone else make you feel otherwise. :)

Family can hurt you worse than ANYONE. I completely understand how it would feel to be in your situation and you are 100% justified in not wanting to go. If you didn't go would you be more happy in the end? Either way, you should wear whatever you want to that wedding. If she buys you a dress, don't wear it. Keep the tags on it and exchange it for something you really want. Ugh, I hate hearing you say the same things that I say about my family because I know that it hurts deeper than anything and it's almost unbearable when you are dreading a family event. Stupid water colors. I like oil paintings much better anyway!

As far as the computer goes, you could have a requirement that a parent come and pick it up. Would that be possible? You know that some of those kids have parents that would just sell it for drug money. That's the bad thing.

I would make suggestions about who to give it to, but I'm partial to some 5th graders. I know that you haven't gotten to know Kaleel very well, but if it were my computer I would give it to him. I don't think they have a computer at home, but he is always asking to get on the classroom computers and he is so interested in that kind of thing.
